SERVICES & RATES

FEES (in US Dollars):

• If after a free 1-hour introductory, risk-free, no-obligation consultation, we mutually agree to proceed with your genealogy project, a $200 Retainer Fee for a 4-hour minimum will then be collected if paying by check (or $204 if paying by PayPal or Venmo, to cover the processing fees), a Client Agreement will be signed, and Turn the Page Genealogy will begin research for you.

• $50 per hour for services as described below if paying by check (or $51.05 per hour if paying by PayPal or Venmo, to cover the processing fees), beyond the 4-hour minimum. This includes travel time to and from repositories, research, report writing, and any phone, email, or Zoom consultations with you, beyond the initial free first hour.

 

• Fewer than 5 hours of research and report writing time is highly unlikely to yield effective results. 10 or more hours of research and report writing time is recommended for most research goals.

• Negative findings (the absence of records where you expect to find them) and unsuccessful searches are charged.

​

• Research results are not guaranteed, but Turn the Page Genealogy will use every tool at its disposal to provide results for you.

​

• Providing all previously-known information before Turn the Page Genealogy begins your research project will help you avoid being charged unnecessarily for duplicating your work.

​

OTHER REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES:

​

• Postage, photocopies, microfilm rental, travel mileage to and from (at the rate authorized by the IRS) and parking at repositories, and other incidental expenses.

​

PAYMENT DETAILS:

​

• Payment of the retainer fee is due before research begins.

​

• A contract for services must be signed and a deposit of 50% of the anticipated project cost will be required prior to the start of any research.

 

• Payment for the remaining balance is due upon completion of research when your project is delivered to you.

​

• If less time is needed to complete your project than agreed upon in the contract, your final total cost will be discounted. You may also elect to use any unused time for further research or projects, which would require signing an amended contract.

 

• All payments may be paid by personal check (PREFERRED METHOD), or via PayPal or Venmo. Information is provided on the client agreement (mailing address, QR codes, etc.)

WAITING LIST RESERVATION POLICY:

​

• A deposit of 20% of the total commissioned project fees will be required to be placed on the current waiting list for Turn the Page Genealogy.

​

• This deposit will be entirely applied toward the research fees. Any unused fees will be returned to the client.
